Some problems were solved at Villa. In particular the issue of the goal keeping post, Raya is clearly numbe one on merit. Two that Arsenal can beat Villa they are no bogey team, the win was built on resolute defending, but even though two goals scored the question mark on how many goals Arsenal can score this season wasnt fully erased. Nonetheless 4 goals for and none against is a good start to a season by any measure. Ratings follow:
Raya 9 - What a save. Second one in two games
White 8 - Extra point for kicking the ball at McGinn
Saliba 9 - Imperious
Gabriel 7 - Could've cost us with the giveaway
Timber 7 - Solid season debut
Rice 6 - A bit vanilla
Partey, 7 - Did ok. Nice goal. Looked a bit fitter. Gets run past
Odegaard 6- Much better second half
Martinelli 5 - I just don't see it. Lacking confidence
Saka 7 - Coasted through the game
Havertz 5 - I'm a big fan but ordinary today
