John Terry, New England Captain!

So what do you know about John Terry?

Born in 1980, JT joined Chelsea as a 14 year old and started out as a midfield player but due to injuries and lack of availability of defenders JT moved into the defence position and has since never looked back.

JT went out on loan to Nottingham Forest to gain experience and with tutors of the class of Frank Leboeuf and Marcel Desailly back at home, JT made his first team debut in 1998 at Stamford Bridge to Aston Villa.

2002 was a bad year for JT. He got mixed up in trouble was charged with affray and ended up in court. Was that situation a life-changing moment? It is said that everybody has a life-changing moment and I am still waiting for mine LOL!!!

Since then JT has become the model professional, twice lifting the Premiership title (back-to-back titles in fact), lifting the Community Shield, a Carling Cup and leading Chelsea to the Champions League semi-finals.

JT has recently become a father of twins and loves to read autobiographies. Autobiographies of other Professional Footballers that is or so he says. He has been quoted as saying that his girlfriend Toni, has tried to get him to read J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books but being the hard man that he is, he isn't going to admit whether he does or not.

Whatever you make of JT's appointment as England Captain, loads of thanks need to be passed to the 'Special One' who on the flight out to USA in his first year, handed the Club Captaincy to JT and as they say the rest is history, but according to the snipers, Chelsea do not have any history!!
