The Reserves suffered their first defeat of the season last night at The Recreation Ground, Aldershot Town FC, to Premiership new boys Reading who have recorded three victories from three matches.

To be honest Reading deserved their victory and both their goals were scored by Shane Long who lobbed Yves from thirty yards after twenty-seven minutes and midway through the second-half headed in from close range.

Chelsea's consolation goal came too late to mount increase pressure of the Reading goal, when substitute Phil Younghusband burst through one-on-one with the Goalkeeper and coolly lotted the ball home.

Minutes earlier Younghusband found himself in a very similar position but former Emirates XI 'Keeper, Graham Stack saved well.

Reading fielded an extremely strong XI. In addition to Stack, there was ex-Burnley man Glen Little, ex Villa man De Le Cruz and ex-Evertonian John Oster
