Good news for Joe Cole. Joe played a full ninety minute behind closed doors friendly at Cobham on Tuesday against the Reserves of Coventry City and declared "I am available for selection."

Joe's performance was witnessed by Jose and Steve Clarke and the rest of first-team management team and prospects look good for Coley to make some sort of appearance at Reading on Saturday.

Joe on his return said "It was great to put the shirt back on. I really enjoyed it and there is nothing better than playing.

"Although I have had three or four good training sessions, you are still a little bit nervous because you can’t replicate a game. But I went out there and the knee felt fine so I am back and ready for selection. I am just buzzing."

Joe injured his knee after seven minutes after coming on as a sub in the MLS game in Chicago and then and felt a twinge after the Werder Bremen Chmapions League.

For the record Chelsea won 2-1 with the son of Coventry City's Reserve manager Alan Cork (ex Wimbledon Legend) Jack scoring both of Chelsea's goals, after Coventry had taken the lead.

The Chelsea team (including three goalkeepers who played thirty-minutes each): Carlo Cudicini (Hilario) (Yves Ma Kalambay); Nana Ofori-Twumasi, Harry Worley (Liam Bridcutt), Adrian Pettigrew, Nuno Morais; John Obi Mikel, Jack Cork, James Simmonds (Fabio Ferreira); Joe Cole, Salomon Kalou (Shaun Cummings), Scott Sinclair (Phil Younghusband).

Well in view of England's defeat last night in Croatia, oh how England missed Joe Cole???
