Drogba Named African Player of the Year

Yesterday, Didier Drogba was voted African Player by the Confederation of African Football.
“The Drog” received 79 votes – just 5 votes ahead of Barcelona’s Samuel Etoó who had held the title for the previous 3 years.

I must say Drogba has been in sensational form and the bane of many defences on the domestic and European scene alike.
I’ve included some video goals of our black panther at the end of this brief report.
Michael Essien was also high up in the vote, finishing 3rd. The African Confederation of football also named a team of the year which also included other Premier League stars, Arsenal’s Emmanuel Eboué and Kolo Touré along with Spurs midfielder, Didier Zokora.
Well done Didier! You deserve it mate!
