Ben Sahar's Loan at Sheff Wed Extended to May

Ben Sahar's loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday has been extended until May 4. Ben has been on loan to the Owls since February. He has made seven appearances and scored Wednesday's equaliser and his 2nd goal which earned the Owls a point against Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

As well as being on loan at Wednesday, Ben has been at QPR earlier this season where he made nine appearances and was also a substitute in Chelsea's Carling Cup tie against Everton.

Continuing the Youth theme. 48 hours after playing in an enthralling FA Youth cup-tie against Man City at Stamford Bridge, the Academy travelled to Reading on Saturday and were beaten 2-1.

Two quick fire goals from The Royals put Chelsea on the back foot and although they pulled one back through Nikki Ahamed who scored his second goal of the season, eleven changes from Thursday night was probably too much for the younger Academy stars of the future to cope with.

Coach Paul Clement wasn't too downhearted. He said "Despite going behind, it was mostly our possession in the first half but Reading lined-up 4-5-1, defended deep, and although they created very little, we found it difficult to break them down."

"We had a really good chance late on and it was a fantastic save from Morten and I would say we deserved the draw because we tried to play football, but ultimately our two mistakes cost us."

CHELSEA:

Niclas Heimann, Tom Taiwo(c), Shaun Cummings, Jack Saville, Billy-Joe King, Jordan Hibbert, Daniel Philliskirk, Fabio Borini (Jacob Mellis), Frank Nouble (Morten Nielsen), Adam Phillip, Nikki Ahamed (Nana Ofori-Twumasi).

If you can get to Cobham tomorrow (Tuesday) the Academy play again against Ipswich Town. The game kicks off at Noon.

Did he have an appendix op whilst on loan to QPR? (or was that Sinclair?).

Really hope he can make his mark at Wed and be good enough to break into the first team squad next season.

Its was Sahar who had the appendix operation, not long into his loan period
