IS The Impossible....................... Possible?

Waking up this morning to news that Didier Drogba 'has agreed' a move to AC Milan in the Summer, that Frank Lampard has been given a 'take it or leave' contract offer, 'Gravy Boy' stating there should be a play-off between the top two for the title if both teams are level on points and SAF worrying about the integrity of Bolton Wanderers Football Club.
The press and media, for as far as I can remember, do like to break the BIG stories on the eve of a BIG game. Lets face it with Gravy Boy in charge, the press has hardly anything to write about in the past except for 'Gravy Boy's' departure in the Summer. Man Utd and Chelsea are level on the points in the Premiership title race with one game remaining. If you didn't know - Man Utd travel to Wigan and Chelsea are at home to Bolton. Back in September when 'The Special One' left, I wrote and said many times that it would be a miracle if Chelsea won anything this season. So far I am right. After losing in the Carling Cup Final against Spurs and dumped out of the FA Cup at Barnsley there are still two trophies to win, having said that the Champions League in the more realistic trophy for me to win out of the two available. If you had ask me when Jose left I never thought I would have been in this position to say the following, 'Man Ud need to match or better Chelsea's result to retain their title,' if Chelsea beat Bolton and Man Utd do not beat Wigan - the impossible happens!!! Chelsea win their 3rd Premiership title in four years and will NOT have to play Man Utd in the Community Shield at Wembley in August LOL LOL LOL. As SAF pointed out, alot has been said about Man Utd going to Wigan and winning and how difficult that will be. But he also illustrated that although Chelsea are at home, Bolton can cause us problems which they have done in the past. Remember the 2-2 draw when we were 2-0 up at The Bridge? We did get our revenge though when Frank scored two goals at The Reebok to win our first title in 50 years. Then the following year Frank did it again and set Chelsea on their way to their 2nd title. Although we have relegated Bolton before in the past, I can't see that happening on Sunday unless the Gods are really against Bolton and in our favour for example about 20 goals. Regardless of what Man Utd do and we win 20-0, we will DEFINITELY be Champions. I know I am still biting me nose off to spite me face, but I WILL NOT be at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Instead I will be at home watching the drama unfold on TV wearing my blue shirt with the badge of 'The King of Stamford Bridge' on my heart. If the impossible happens, I know I miss out, but if it doesn't I haven't missed out on anything but I know I can enjoy a glorious reflection on how Chelsea's league season has panned out. A season that was better than last season for loads and loads of reasons. There is so much more to write about, but that starts after 5 o'clock on Sunday afternoon.
The club will almost certainly make a "final" offer this summer to Lampard and it will be a very generous one - probably meeting him half-way on his image rights - and I reckon he´ll stay (Modric finally going to Spurs could even be an indication that a deal with Lamps has already been agreed in principle).
Still, as you say, not uncommon for the press to wheel these stories out before such an important weekend.
I´m feeling quite relaxed about tommorrow. We never expected to be in this position anyway - to have a chance of winning the league is a bonus.
Who knows what will happen? Will the Mancs kill the game off quickly with 2-3 goals in the first 20 mins against Wigan - or will Wigan make them hang on and the ref plays Fergie time and Ronaldo dives and gets a pen in the 94th min? OR....or will the impossible become possible!!!!!
Whatever the outcome we can be PROUD of Chelsea. What other team could take a team which has been the lauded as the best he´s ever had by Ferguson to the wire like we have? And handicapped by an unprecedented run of injuries to key players for so much of the season? Wenger said that his current midfield was the best he´d ever had - the media continued to laud their football and they were well ahead in the league at one point.
We also had the Mourinho exit upheaval and the African Nations - but these are "our fault".
It does make you wonder just how we can be in such a position - and with a CL final still to come. It can only mean that we have such power and character - the like of which has probably not been seen before - we´ve been playing with one leg tied behind our back and we´re still up there! The future has to be extremely bright.

tomorrow. Would normally be replaced by Alex BUT I just wonder if we might see Ivanovic for the first time tomorrow.

We have achieved more than the greatest expectations so far (although we could still end the season empty handed).
Whelan now confesses he would rather a northern team won it and that he has already bought champagne! THAT pitch has been relaid and a rugby match postponed so as not to damage the new surface, Fergie in contact wih Bruce by phone this week..... Doesn´t look good for us does it?!
One thing of which I´m certain is that we do have the Mancs number - we ARE a better team than them.
We can only hope that Lady Luck is with us today although I suspect the CL is our greatest chance of a pot this season (but what a pot!).
Today could be the last day we see certain players on the turf of Stamford Bridge, so today, nothing´s going to stop me enjoying this tense experience - runners up or league winners - it´s been one hell of a season!
