Goodbye Jose: Mourinho Interview at Inter

Mourinho held his first interview for his new club since leaving Chelsea yesterday and answered questions on Chelsea and what Chelsea players he would like to sign – although he steered clear of naming names. For many of us it’s quite heartbreaking to see him holding up an Inter shirt – but life goes on.
"I will always, always, always support Chelsea and wish them all the best with their new coach, but if Chelsea meet Inter in the Champions League, then I won't know any of them.”
"Chelsea is over for me - not in my heart, but in my thoughts.”
"At this moment, I want to start a new life and I do not want to talk about Chelsea.”
"It will be hard, but I want to have the same passion with the fans of Inter and the same relationship with the players and carry joy to Inter in the same way I did for Chelsea."
Despite rumours of the purse strings having to be tightened a bit at Inter, Mourinho is hoping to nab 3-4 of our squad – most probably Drogba, Lampard, Essien and Carvalho.
"I think it is normal as a consequence of the relationship with my players. Almost all of them want to work with me again in the future and the same goes for me.”
"I have a great relationship with almost all of my players and it is normal that these rumours spread.
"But it depends on whether Chelsea want to sell - there has got to be a relation between what one club wants and what another club wants to do."
"The president knows what I would like, but I am not discussing names with the press."
Lampard looks set to sign a new contract this summer, Carvalho signed a 4 year contract last year but hopefully we’ll bump up Essien´s contract again in the very near future.Drogba of course, is a prime candidate to leave and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is soon reunited with his mentor. It is of the utmost importance that we keep the other three though (I’d like to keep Drogba as well but his heart appears to be in Italy now - if he does go THEN please can we get a decent whack for him?!).
”History” is something we are often accused of not having by the ignorant, Sky educated, plebeian masses (in any case “history” for them means “trophies” – as does “tradition” etc…) and Mourinho put his attitude about the subject in excellent context:
"We have to forget what we have won - that has been won and is history."
"We need to have new aims. I like to win and always put the past aside and think to the future.
"If somebody tells me that Inter won the league last season, I prefer to say Inter have won it 16 times, but those 16 are now history.""A cycle has ended with a great coach like Roberto (Mancini), but this is a new page - This is the start of a new life for Inter.”
So, time to “let go” for many of us; no more Mourinho charging down the touchline, coat flapping behind him…My own view is that Abramovich has an agreement with Mourinho to come back to the Bridge in 3 years time (Didn’t you just say “Time to let go” ?! – Ed) and that he may have even tried to persuade him to come back NOW.
Our search for a new “Special One” goes on (we assume – some feel that the new man already knows who he is but can’t be named yet).
If we play Inter in Europe then no doubt the Stamford Bridge faithful will show Mourinho due respect – but all of them, like me, will want us to thrash his team 6-0 and send them back with their tale between their legs.
Anyway….One last time:

Piveteau, poi, precisa: "Posso dire che non ci sono stati contatti diretti tra il mio assistito e l'Inter riguardo a un possibile trasferimento; poi ovvio che l'arrivo di Mourinho avvicini il giocatore ancora di pi alla squadra". E proprio su questo Piveteau dice: "Prima Lampard, poi Drogba, Carvalho e ora Essien: ma Mourinho vuole tutto il Chelsea? Non pu comprarli tutti".
