Nine New 1st Year Scholars at The Academy

The world famous Chelsea Academy which has had more than £5m invested in has today signed-up nine new first year scholars to enhance an increasing envious reputation throughout World Football. A lot of the new intake have already represented the Academy during the course of last season and there are a couple of new names too.
The Academy had a fairly successful season which culminated in reaching the FA Youth Cup final and although the team were beaten by a very good Man City side quite a few names are starting to earn a serious reputation as 'stars' of the future. Gael Kakuta is one and I shall be looking forward to continue following the progress of both Academy and Reserve teams when the 2008/09 season starts, I am hoping to get to a few games as well. The new first-year scholars are as follows: Jeffrey Bruma: Centre-back, made over 30 appearances for the Academy and Reserves last season. Vincenza Camilleri: Italian junior International and plays at Centre-back. Conor Clifford: Midfield player who is also an Irish U17 international. Aliu Djalo: Another junior who has represented his country at International level. Hails from Portugal. Aldi Haxia: Goalkeeper. Made a couple of appearances late last season. Tom Hayden: Right-back and played for the Academy last season. Frank Nouble: South Londoner by birth and is an attacker by nature. Scored six goals for the Academy last season and was heavily involved in the Youth Cup run. Jacopo Sala: Another youngster from Italy who has represented his country at U17 level. Was involved in three Academy games last season Sam Walker: Goalkeeper signed from Millwall. At 6ft 5ins, he is an excellent shot stopper and played four times last season.
They say that if you get ONE through into the first team each year then that´s very good. I wonder how many of ours might break through next season? There´s the like of Stoch, Magnay, Woods, Di Santo (needs a bit more meat on him?), Tejera.....and Kakuta.
Scolari was criticised for putting Kaka in the Brazil squad because the public and the federation felt he was too young - the rest is history, I´ve a feeling that Big Phil will not be adverse to blooding a few young uns at various points - Kakuta could well be one of them.
There´s also the matter of the likes of Sinclair - What will Big Phil make of him?

a 6.5 kid, i hope he keeps growing , England Future No 1???
I wouldn´t be surprised to see Scolari give some of these youngsters more of a run out than we expect.
