F*** THE REAL FANS

Chelsea's first five games of the season against Portsmouth (H) 1.30pm, Wigan (A) 1.30pm, Tottingham (H) 1.30pm, Manchester City (A) 5.30pm (still on Saturday) and ManURE (H) 2pm have all been changed to Sunday kick-off's (except Man City) to accommodate 'Mr Armchair's' desire to watch top-class professional football.
It was inevitable that one or two of the first five games would be changed, purely because of the arrival of 'BIG PHIL' from Brazil and the media frenzy that a World Cup winning manager would attract - but to change the first FIVE games from a 'normal' Saturday 3pm kick-off is just a ridiculous joke. There is no NORMAL top-class professional football these days. 3 o'clock 3 o'clock 3 o'clock "WE WANT 3 O'CLOCK, WE WANT 3 O'CLOCK." But the sorry tale of TV getting their own way just doesn't end there. It gets worse!! Middlesbrough away has now been re-scheduled for Saturday 18th October with a 12.45pm kick-off, Liverpool away is now on a Sunday, kicking off at 1.30pm. Blackburn Rovers away is now on Sunday 9th November, kick off at 1.30pm. Arsenal at home kicks off at 4pm on Sunday 30th November. In the past Chelsea fans have had to deal with Sky changing schedules to suit themselves and Mr Armchair - but now we have got Setanta to deal with!!! I know this sounds like a selfish rant about the inconvenience that Chelsea fans are going to face travelling up and down the country supporting the boys, but it isn't - other Premiership fans are going to feel the same way - and really and truly its about time something is done about it!! Many a time I have gone to The Bridge for an early kick-off and my heart has warmly applauded the visiting fans who have travelled many many miles at 'silly o'clock time to support their team so I know, WE AS FANS WHO GO TO GAMES are all in the same boat!!
The trouble is, a huge wedge of Premiership clubs income comes from the TV comapnies - the consequences are that the TV companies have the clubs by the balls. We´ve accepted their money - so we pay the price.
Where, in my view, kick-off times DO need to be investigated and the record put straight is in the following:
(1) Do our closest rival´s fans also have to suffer the same inconvenience? Or will their support have an advantage over ours?
(2) Do other PL clubs fans have the same inconvenience - or are they left alone.
We ALL receive money from the TV companies so we should ALL be treated equally.

There is no doubt about it.

Love watching live football, also think Sky coverage is excellent, and Sky Plus is awesome!
Feeck Mr Neutral/Casual? Well yes - trouble is, Mr Neutral is also a paying customer.
Look, I agree - the REAL fans are being feeecked over - but OUR clubs have just accepted record TV money. We´ve accepted their coin so that we have more money to spend. If our clubs cared about the REAL fans than they´d negotiate a clause in the contract to schedule more matches at 3pm on Saturday - but no doubt they wouldn´t receive so much money from the TV companies if they did that.
Times have changed haven´t they?!! When I was a kid we´d be driving home from the Bridge, listening to the reports then get in just in time for the results service, then on Sunday, try and finish the roast in time so that I was allowed to get down and watch Brian Moore on the Big Match!
