Its the 2nd year of competition for the Russian Railways Cup as hosts Lokomotiv Moscow look to improve on their dismal 4th place finish from last year when they were beaten 5-2 by Real Madrid after being 2-0 up and lost 5-4 on penalties to AC Milan after the game ended 3-3.
PSV won the competition after beating Real Madrid in the final, 2-1. AC Milan return to Moscow for the 2nd time and as well as the hosts, Milan are joined this time round by Sevilla and Chelsea. The first match which kicks-off in less than a couple of hours sees AC Milan take on Sevilla. Chelsea against Lokomotiv Moscow kicks off at 18.15pm (UK time) and there will be FULL LIVE coverage on the message board. The final and 3rd/4th play-off matches take place on Sunday 3rd August. It will be a joyous time for our own Branislav Ivanovic who returns to his his former club for the first time since his transfer from Lokomotiv last January. It is said Branislav is still revered by the Lokomotiv fans. AC Milan expect to field Flamini, a Summer signing from Woolwich FC also Gattuso and Pirlo. Sevilla have Luis Fabiano and Sebastian Squillaci (who played for Monaco against us in 2004) and we could have been re-united with Khalid 'The Cannibal' Boulahrouz, but he has since been transferred to VFB Stuttgart. Peter Kenyon announced today thay talks with Robinho are still on-going but Real Madrid want a replacement before Robinho leaves - which is fair enough. Kenyon said, "One of the key issues over buying Robinho has always been that Real Madrid are looking for a replacement. "It is fair to say that is what has been holding up discussions between the two clubs. "It has not progressed over the last couple of days, but the window is open until the end of August so there is still plenty of time to run." Kenyon also took time to express the club's feelings regarding Drogba by saying, "There is no question that any deal will be done with regards to Didier. The player is currently in England recovering from a knee problem. "Didier is in rehab and will continue to be a Chelsea player. I think we can squash that one."

Looking forward to this. More than decent opposition and it will be interesting to see how match fit our lot are getting.
I wouldn´t be surprised if Ivanovic gets a decent run out against his previous club - also take into account he didn´t play at all in the last match.

We´re looking much fitter and cohesive in general.
Deco impresses and Anelka has a lot more drive about him - would like to see him partnered up front though.
Joe Cole seems a bit anonymous although he is behind the rest with regards to fitness.
Be nice to see us get another one and perhaps give the likes of Di Santo, Sinclair and Sheva a run out - and also see a bit more of Ivanovich.
What a whiplash shot from Essien - great goal.
I notice that this deep corner - volley from Deco seems to be something worked on in training - Extravegant but spectacular.

You have to almost laugh - penalties are such a curse for us. We could have a pen competition against a Sunday League side and I bet we´d still lose!
We had the chances to kill the game easy in the 2nd half - we just need to be that bit sharper up front.
Still, very encouraging so far under Scolari - some nice play at times.
