Champions League Seedings and Draw Preview

The Champions League group stage draw for 2008/9 will take place tomorrow from 4:30pm in Monaco. Chelsea are top seed and will be joined by others in pot 1 including Manchester United, Barcelona, Inter and Real Madrid. Arsenal will also feature in Group 1 as will Liverpool who scraped through tonight against Standard Liege. Celtic, in pot 3, complete the British seeds.

The first part in attempting to banish the pain of Moscow begins tomorrow afternoon and a full report will feature on our board tomorrow just as soon as proceedings in Monaco are completed.

The UEFA Club Footballer of the Year winner, won by Kaka last year, will also be announced along with the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and striker categories - Lampard, Terry and Drogba all have a chance of winning an award.

At first glance the ones we want to avoid are Bayern Munchen and Juventus from pot 2, Olympique Marseille from pot 3 and Atletico Madrid from pot 4 – on the other hand, I you want to win the thing then you have to face the best at some point.

I predict Arsenal been drawn in the same group with Panathinaikos, Bayern and CFR Cluj.

my wish is man utd will face Bremen, Basel & BATE, this is much easier.... but as a champion, whoever they face will be no problem... so let it be Bayern, Marseille & Fiorentina

wow..atletico madric and fiorentina in 4th pot. then u got celtic and fenerbace in pot 3. pot 2 some really tough opponent, as roma, juve and bayern. if things go wrong in the right way, one of 2 top seed could end up with tougher group than they like. what about, chelsea bayern fenerbace and atletico madrid in same group? that would be great. haha

hey r u nuts,manchester united r the top seeds followed by chelsea,liverpool,barca,arsenal,lyon,inter and real madrid. This is the order of first 8 seedings.....who the hell put u as the top seed......and as for the award goes none of u guyz can win it 'cause gerrard(mid), ferdinand(def), ronaldo(striker) are the frontrunners.

gonna be very tough to win it this year, a lot of good teams
