Scolari Phone Calls and Response on Robinho

After extensive media coverage claiming that Luiz Felipe Scolari was fuming at Chelsea’s failure to sign Robinho the Brazilian has spoken out through the clubs web site. Meanwhile, some sections of the international media claim that Scolari called Robinho personally at the 11th hour of the transfer window in order to persuade his compatriot to play for Chelsea and again AFTER he was turned down.

How on earth they could claim to know the details of the telephone calls is baffling although if Scolari had spoken to the player nearly every day during the transfer saga we could suppose that he would have called at those times as well.
Marca and others claim that Scolari spoke to Robinho after he had signed for City:
“I had bet and relied upon you. I got you an excellent contract and in the end you let me down – that’s not how to act.”
Supposedly were also some colourful conversations with the player’s agent Wagner Ribeiro after the agent apparently had given our manager his word that his player would sign for Chelsea.
Other reports also claim that Scolari was upset with Abramovich but these are refuted by Big Phil on the clubs website:
“I have seen the newspapers and that they say I am unhappy or angry with the club. These statements are not true at all.”
“I have not said this and I do not think this.”
"I don't think the people around Robinho were serious about him coming to Chelsea.”
"Real Madrid were more interested in the best business deal. This is not a problem for me. I have many great players and am very happy with my team. I am receiving new players from injuries as Drogba will be back soon, Mikel recovers well, Ballack and Essien played with injuries but both are getting better.”
"I don't think they [Chelseaa] managed it very well. They waited until the last minute and it turned out badly for them. My head was at Chelsea, but now that is forgotten. I know Scolari is upset with me, but these things happen. When I play against them I will show that they were wrong not to raise their offer. City presented the offer five hours before the deadline and until then I had not been thinking about them at all."
Robinho says that all thoughts of joining Chelsea are now in the past, while his agent reveals how his move to Manchester City went right down to the wire.
Robinho’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro takes up the story: "I was just about to catch a flight to London [on the final day of the transfer window] when I got a call to tell me to come to the Bernabéu.
“I told Robinho then that he was a Chelsea player. We even celebrated the fact. When I got to the stadium the press asked me about City and I said no.
“It was 10.45 at night when [Real's director general José Angel Sánchez] asked me: 'Would Robinho play for Man City?'
“Chelsea kept on pushing until the very end. [Chelsea chief executive] Peter Kenyon rang me desperately to ask what was going on.
“But I was certain that Madrid and Chelsea wouldn't agree €40 million so I said yes to City. Their interest was a wonderful surprise.”
