A Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to All

1st & 4most to everyone who has visited this site in the last year and to new visitors, HAVE A HAPPY CHRISTMAS & A WONDERFUL PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. Boxing Day Football on a Friday and no football on a Saturday oh give me a break, but then there is football again on Sunday, with most of the country on their hols on Monday, why couldn't the authorities play the games on Saturday & Monday.

That's the authorities for you.

Anyway back to our game against WBA at Stamford Bridge on Friday.

The so-called fortress is slowly becoming 'easy-city' and with the greatest respect to Tony Mowbray and his hard working lads, any other result than a Chelsea win..... well Scolari can go home to Brazil and I will be more than happy to get on a plane to Florida in a week or so time and miss Southend in the FA Cup, but be home just in time for Man Utd away...... oh happy days (What a game to come back off holiday to).

A few weeks ago we travelled to The Hawthorns and scored three times in less than fifteen minutes at the tail end of the first-half.

A double from Nic and a screamer from Bossie.

Come Friday we need to put the Albion to bed in the FIRST fifteen minutes of the first half so ALL Chelsea fans can enjoy a lunchtime stroll at Stamford Bridge - but this is Chelsea, this is the same Chelsea that previously ripped apart Pompey and Sunderland in their opening home games and then fell apart after losing against Liverpool and Arsenal and in between drawing against Tottingham, Newcastle and West Ham.

Terry is out, so expect Alex and Ivanovic to be the centre-half pairing unless Scolari has decided to throw in a 'kid,' and why not? Carl Magnay for example.

With Scolari's track record since he became coach, introducing kids.... nah hardly likely we have had Stoch and Sinclair on the bench in recent times and neither of them have been used to any effect, so much so Scottie could be on his toes in the new year.

Pressure what pressure Phil? Start the kids, they can't do any worse or start Dids and Nic together, whats the worse that can happen?

We don't win at the moment!

COME ON CHELSEA

I´m confident that we will get the 3 points out of this.

It was disappointing not to take top spot again on Monday BUT we can forget that we got a tough away point with only 10 men for over the half the match (to put it into persepective, Man Utd got a draw there with 11 men on the field).

Scolari is promising something a bit different apparently - so I´m half expecting to see at least Drogba and Anelka on from the off at least. Don´t forget, the squad have been working on new systems in training for the last week and a half.

Scolari has almost everybody back (less Carvalho and Essien) so now he has no "excuses" re being able to prepare plan B and C.

Re the youngsters, there have been occasions when we have been in a comfortable lead and we´ve been pleading in our minds for Scolari to bring on Stoch or Sinclair - but he hasn´t. His reasons for not doing so were that he needed to give playing time to senior players recovering from injury - I´ll just about swallow that but I´ll expect him to start using some of the kids from now on.

It has been frustrating but fortunately for us only Liverpool and ourselves have marginally improved on points gained and league position whilst Man Utd (yes, Man Utd) and Arsenal have been even just as bad as ourselves or worse.

From NOW ON is the time to judge Scolari really in my opinion. (and don´t forget, he´s only had 4 and a half months of football).

Come on you Blues!!!

With 14 points dropped at the Bridge, Scolari understands why some people are raising doubts about Chelsea, but he and his squad have been hard at work to prove them wrong.
'Sometimes we make a mistake with the last pass, with the shot, with the cross. But only Ricardo Carvalho and Michael Essien are not ready for this game and I have more options. I try to make something different for when we start the game.
