Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cuducini has been transferred to Tottenham Hotspurs in a Ł1million deal. The move has been revealed in an exclusive from the Daily Mail and will shock Chelsea fans. Carlo is considered a legend by the Stamford Bridge faithful and for him to move to one of our most intense rivals will be considered painfully for a long time to come.
But we are being selfish of course. Carlo has given us superb service during his time at the club, hardly a ripple of complaint since Cech took over the mantle and has made just 25 league starts in the last five seasons. We cannot blame him for agreeing to a move…BUT WHY Spurs Carlo?!!!
Although Cuducini is now 35, the £1million fee seems ridiculously low for a keeper of his calibre and must surely be a gesture on behalf of the club to allow Spurs to pay him a salary that he deserves.
Not so long ago we could rightfully boast of having the two best goalkeepers in the Premier League. Yes, logically Carlo is a bit rusty at the moment but a decent run of matches will no doubt bring about the lightening reflexes and sharpness that we know he possesses.What this means for current Spurs keeper Heurelho Gomes remains to be seen but more importantly, as far as we are concerned, what does this mean for us if Cech gets injured?
Hilario has been third choice keeper and we might be encouraged by the ability of Rhys Taylor and Niclas Heimann. Nevertheless, the thought of plunging one of these youngsters into a Champions League match against, say, Inter Milan should Hilario also get injured doesn’t warm the cockles. This is either a bold statement from the club in terms of a new trust in youth or a calculated risk until the summer.
Cudicini´s contract ended this summer.
Carlo, you have always been a gent and a superb goalkeeper. We wish you all the best (BUT WHY did it have to be Spurs?!).

I am very surprised that he has gone to spurs i thought maybe west ham but not spurs.He is gonna be in the same position as number two behind Gomez.I cant see the point in it.

am so suprise when i heard this assuming i pray that peter cech will not have injury, assuming if that happen, who will replace him? it is Henrique Hilario, Rhys Taylor or Niclas Heiman, why would chelsea sell Cudicini to their bitter rival

Interesting that Spurs are NOT playing Gomes tonight. Did Gomes play in the first leg?

He sent his 2nd keeper off on loan to Valencia apparantly he wasnt up to standard
Alnwick who is playing tonight is 3rd choice.
