January 30 2009
Chelsea have made their first signing of 2009 by landing winger Gokhan Tore from Bayer Leverkusen. Gokhan is German born and he is a Turkish Youth International and he has been at Leverkusen since the age of five.
Gokhan bears a canny resemblance to our own Michael Woods. Gokhan has signed a three and a half year deal and joins our multi-national Academy with immediate effect. One player leaving the Academy is central defender Vincenzo Camilleri who joined Chelsea from Reggina last year. There are no further details as to why Vincenzo is leaving the Blues, however he is heading back to Reggina. It's a big week for the Academy. First up they are away to Norwich City on Saturday, then after a day off on Sunday, the boys will start their preparations for the FA Youth Cup-tie against Liverpool on Thursday 5th February. The game is at Anfield and kick-off is 7pm.

How good is he?
Woods however is a tenacious player.
