Scolari sacked in swift Chelsea board action

Big Phil Scolari has been dismissed from his position as manager and coach of Chelsea Football Club. Despite faltering performances after an impressive start many, whilst very disappointed with recent results, will be shocked at the swiftness of action of Chelsea suits. This latest episode is another mark of the failure of the club to maintain stability since the departure of José Mourinho.

The club has issued the following statement:

Luiz Felipe Scolari has been dismissed as manager of Chelsea Football Club today (Monday) with immediate effect.

The Chelsea board would like to place on record our gratitude for his time as manager.

Felipe has brought many positives to the club since he joined and we all feel a sense of sadness that our relationship has ended so soon. Unfortunately the results and performances of the team appeared to be deteriorating at a key time in the season.

In order to maintain a challenge for the trophies we are still competing for we felt the only option was to make the change now.

The search for a new manager has already started and we hope to have someone in place as soon as possible.

While that continues Assistant Coach Ray Wilkins will take charge of the team on a temporary basis.

More comment to follow very soon…

What do the club do now?

Offer the one they REALLY want god knows how much cash to drop what he´s doing?

Appoint someone temporary and hope he´s good enough to raise spirits sufficiently to win something and/or finish in a top 3 position?

im shocked it's been so quick, but equally happy and not surprised.

we need someone young someone hungry, someone who will get respect from the players immediately...

i don't want frank Riikard, after the frisk incident.

i don't want sven.

Zola, Di Matteo, Wise, Hughes, Petrescu, CLARKE! MOURINHO!

if not a chelsea legend then Hiddink / Klinsmann.

Is it true Jose said to Roman "Sack me if you dare"

Mourinho must be laughing from the top in Italy.

What makes the timing of the announcement even more laughable most of the squad are away with their countries on International duty (Sm22) (Sm22) (Sm22)

So that means our 'caretaker' Mr Wilkins will have about 2 days to get the players ready for what will now be an extremely difficult cup-tie at Watford on Saturday.

I bet Brendan is already dreaming of the 1/4 finals

Possibly explains why Ferdinand and not Terry took the England press conference...

AF

I boycotted games last season, cos I was so unhappy with Grant.

Funny after Saturday's game I was considering doing it again.

I really really cannot see Grant coming back even as a short-term solution - seriously I can't

I'm surprised you'd would have thought about boycotting games last season mate, surely you've seen much much worse times than almost winning the leauge on the last day and being a penalty kick away from winning the European cup? Though fair enough the bloke did make some strange decisions but looking at his 'near accomplishments' he didnt do so badly?

Rather than boycotting games you've paid for, wouldn't you rather shout abuse from the stands? (Sm1) though I'm not sure how long you'd last before you get kicked out! (Sm6)

You are right.

2nd in the League
CL runners-up

I think what did it was the FA Cup defeat at Barnsley and the CC debacle against your favourite team(Sm127)

Our next home game is against Juve and I only got my tickets the other day and as for shouting abuse - it only goes as far as RUBBISH.
