Villa v Chelsea Reserves Live-updates tonight

Chelsea reserves play away to Aston Villa tonight in what should be an intriguing match for more reasons than one. Michael Essien will take part in the game as part of his final road to recovery after a long absence due to injury.
It should also be acknowledged that Aston Villa produce some of the the top academy and reserve sides in the country and are not averse to using players with Premier League experience - with our own increase on this level in recent seasons it should be a keenly fought contest.

Kick-off is at 7pm and I will provide team news and live updates in the absence of Since 66 who unfortunately is unable to fill his normal spot tonight.

Ricardo Carvalho will ALSO play for the reserves tonight to help improve his fitness after injury.
Carl Magnay is back from loan at MK Dons and will play at the centre of defence and there is a reserve debut in goal for 17-year-old Aldi Haxhia.
Miroslav Stochand young but strong Frank Nouble will feature in attack.
The Chelsea team tonight is:
Aldi Haxhia, Nana Ofori-Twumasi, Ricardo Carvalho, Carl Magnay, Patrick van Aanholt, Michael Essien, Jacob Mellis, Liam Bridcutt (c), Miroslav Stoch, Frank Nouble, Lee Sawyer.
Subs: Sam Walker, Tom Taiwo, Nikki Ahamed, Ben Gordon, Adam Phillip.
