Ex-footballers to box it out - Grudge Match series

We all know that football rivalry is borne out of tribal instincts that lay deep within us all. Modern society does its best to maintain our presence outside of the cave where we once honed our weapons, whilst football allows us to indulge our more base and natural instincts. The Grudge Match and 4TheGame have taken it on step further – now we can see our tribal leaders slug it out boxing style!
Incredible but true.

The Grudge Match will be launched in London later this month with former players from Chelsea and Spurs with later bouts in the series to be contested by ex-players from Liverpool v Everton, Aston Villa v West Brom, Man Utd v Man City, Newcastle v Sunderland and even up to Scotland with bouts between Celtic and Rangers!
Arsenal were originally going to compete but withdrew saying they were “Lovers not fighters” (although I imagine Tony Adams must have been champing at the bit) according to The Grudge Match web site (link below) – West Ham kindly stepped in.
The bouts will be regulated by the European Boxing Board and will consist of 3 x 2 minute rounds.

Kerry Dixon has stopped drinking in preparation for his face-off against Graham Roberts who didn’t have too many kind words to say about Dixon in his auto-biography.
.
I may be a bit biased but I fancy Dixon for this one - Roberts may pack a punch and try and get inside as much as possible but I fancy Dixon´s longer reach to stand him in good stead!
Next up, Steve Sedgley will take on Scottish terrier David Speedie and finally Micky Hazzard against Clive Walker.
Confirmed dates and broadcasting have still yet to be confirmed but will be announced shortly.
Celebrities, ex and current professional footballers and former World Champion Boxers will be in attendance.
