Chelsea lining up young South American talent

Chelsea South America scout Jorge Alvial is currently in Chile at an U17 football tournament to run the rule over various South American youngsters.
“I cannot say who they are but I can report that there is an interest in a Chilean player, an Argentinian, one Brazilian, one Uruguayan and a Bolivian,” said Alvial.
“The process involves submitting a report to Chelsea after the games take place so they can decide who is to be signed. Then we make contact with the team where the player competes and their parents.”
The Chile U17 star could well be Cesar Valenzuela.
Representatives of the youngsters club, Palestino already hinted a few weeks ago that Chelsea were interested.
As for the Brazilian possibility, the media did report recently that Chelsea are in a battle with Juventus for teenager Lanyan.
Lanyan plays at full-back for Vasco De Gama and is tipped as the next Roberto Carlos (How many times have we heard similar claims for other kids?) and has been the subject of impressive scouting reports.
Chelsea scouts have watched the 17-year-old three times.
