Chelsea to hijack Real Madrid Kaka deal with £69m bid

Last nights media was full of speculation that Real Madrid were on the verge of signing Milan midfield maestro Kaka but that Chelsea were doing their best to hijack the deal. News is coming in this afternoon that Chelsea have bid 80m euros (£69m) in an attempt to blast Real Madrid’s £56 million offer out of the water.
There is, as you would expect, a wealth of confusion over what exactly is happening.
Milan have already stated through Berlusconi that the prospects of keeping Kaka in Italy next season are grim:
"I do not know if we can keep Kaka at Milan because they (Real) have offered him so much money," said the Milan owner.
On the other hand, Kaka has reiterated his position that he will remain at Milan next season.
Abramovich apparently contacted AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani directly last night but was informed that Real Madrid had almost completed a deal to buy Kaka.
It is claimed that Kaka´s father and agent, Bosco Leite, were in Madrid to seal the record-breaking deal although there only seems to be confirmation that Gallini was there to attend a presentation dinner for new Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez. Meanwhile, Milan have confirmed that Chelsea have made an extremely important offer for their player.
Perez will do all he can to deliver some of the worlds top players to the Spanish capital in order to fulfill election promises and reinstate his “glactico” transfer policy. Where he is supposed to get the money for Kaka, Ronaldo and Ribery is anyone’s guess - and I doubt Platini will be very interested either. That said, if the Chelsea offer forces Perez to increase his then this could well restrict available funds for other targets common to both Real Madrid and Chelsea - which could be partly Abramovich´s objective.
Chelsea coach, Carlo Ancelotti stated on Monday morning that as much as he would like to bring a certain player (we assume Kaka) from Milan it would be impossible to do so.All in all, it doesn´t appear likely that we will sign Kaka – but who knows what will happen this summer.
Chelsea are also attempting to sign Alexandre Pato and although it is reported that we have had a bid of £30 million rejected, an improved offer has been made. Pato is good – but is he really worth £30 million and more?
"We have had requests for Kaka and Pato from two of Europe's biggest clubs and we will try and resist but there is an uneven playing field," said Galliani.

It would be nice if we could produce the next Kaka ourselves (that kid Kakuta looks a bit special).
In any case (and in a somewhat strange move) the club have posted an official denial on the Chelsea FC website:

The club vehemently denied this in a statement released this evening. But there is no doubt that Ancelotti would not have made the call to his samba star if he thought Kaka wouldn't be interested in continuing their successful relationship in the Premier League.
Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi said any decision on the player's future will not be announced until next week.
"I will talk with Kaka next Monday and on Monday I will be able to reveal the decision," he told a TV station in Italy.
"It is early to think about what happens next."

Some say this is where Chelsea feel that they can take advantage and enter into negotiations whilst others say that it was Kaka´s father who put the Chelsea in for Kaka rumours about in the first place to try and panic Real Madrid into agreement.

"I asked to meet Kaka, but he had left for Brazil and so I agreed with Galliani to have a long telephone conversation with Kaka this Sunday night or Monday.
"If he presents us with a similar situation to that of Andriy Shevchenko, we will behave in the same way, giving the player and his family the freedom to make the choices they believe are the best."
Berlusconi has rubbished suggestions that he is forcing Kaka out of the club, despite rumours that the 27-year-old is happy.
Reports have implied that the Brazil international was upset by the manner in which Milan were prepared to sell to City at the start of 2009 before cancelling the deal.

"I've begged him to stay at Milan," he added. "I did it several months ago and Kaka, despite the fact that there was a stratospheric offer of €105million (£92m), stayed.
"Now certain clubs again made persistent enquiries, Chelsea and Madrid who will bring, they tell me, a different economic deal for the player."
Berlusconi insists the money Milan receive for Kaka - expected to be around €65m (£57m) - will be put back into the team.
He said: "If Kaka should leave to go play in another squad, I will invest what Milan receive from the sale to reinforce Milan and create a very competitive squad."
