ACN forces Mellis loan recall from Saints

With the ACN reducing the Chelsea squad size, youngster Jacob Mellis has been recalled from his loan period with Southampton. The Midfielder made 14 appearances with the south coast club.
Mellis had a good spell at St Mary´s and is obviously seen as a cover option for senior squad players whilst Mikel Obi and Essien are absent during January.
"I think that it will be a great opportunity for the (young) players to show their quality and I hope that they will do a very good job because I trust in these players," said Carlo Ancelotti.
"We have young players and we want to use those for January."
I´ve no idea if Ancelotti will give Mellis any playing time but it would be interesting if he joins Kakuta, Borini, Bruma and Sturridge at some point during next month – and if we don´t sign anyone, and injuries occur Ancelotti may well have no other option.
