WBA Preview: Ramires Signs...... Finally

After a lengthy transfer saga... work permits, transfer fee, wages and medical, Ramires finally signed for Chelsea yesterday afternoon from Benfica. The deal took long enough to complete and we will just have to wait to see if the deal was worth it, once Ramires pulls on a Chelsea shirt for the first time..... which will not be today.

There is more good news for Chelsea in that Petr Cech and Alex are expected to return, to bolster a shaky defence who lets face it, had a disastrous pre-season and with the departure of Rickity Ricky to join Madrid's crusade in La Liga, Alex's return is most welcome.

There is a doubt about Super Frank's fitness after he returned from England duty with an ankle injury.

Time has flown by so quickly that is doesn't seem like three months since Chelsea lifted the Premiership title, followed by the FA Cup and we have nine months to celebrate the team's historic 'Double' winning acheivement starting with WBA at home this afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

Hopefully WBA's Roberto Di Matteo and Eddie Newton - Chelsea legends - will get a warm welcome on their return to Stamford Bridge, after leading The Baggies to promotion from the Championship and despite a poor pre-season, Chelsea can send them back home to the Midlands with their backsides well and truly spanked.
