Football Icon Sam Hurrell Dumped as Welling Win

Two weeks ago in celebration of Non-League Day, I went back to Park View Road for the first time in about six years to watch Welling United beat Boreham Wood 2-1. Yesterday I went back in the hope that Football Icon winner Sam Hurrell would be involved for his new club Woking, and I got a little bit more than I bargained for.
Sam played over 50 games for Welling United before signing a one-year contract at Woking, this after being released by Chelsea Football Club in 2007, then joining St Albans and then Welling United in February 2009
With the half-time score at 0-0, as is normal at Park View Road, opposition fans can change ends and off I went to the Danson Park End of the ground.
The second-half kicked off and within five or so minutes, young Sam started to warm-up.
As he ran up and down the touchline, he got 'Up The Chels' and a wink from yours truly which he returned with a smile, then minutes later I asked him if he was still at Chelsea coaching within the Academy, he replied he was and was loving it then he said that playing for Woking suited him because he was only 10 minutes away from where he lived.
As I was going to ask him another question, he got called back by the Woking management and joined the game with about 30 mins left.
Sam has got tremendous pace, a wicked cross on the run and he took Woking's corners from the left and right and his efforts beat the first defender - not many pros can hold their hands -up to that - and he took all but one of Woking's free-kicks.
However late on in the game with Welling 1-0 up, Sam was deemed to have fouled Welling's Loui Fazackerley 20 odd yards away from goal.
As Lenny Pidgeley was lining up his wall, the ref blew his whistle, and Loick Pires scored Welling's second to the right of Lenny's goal - ala Thierry Henry for Arsenal against Chelsea - when Eider went mental.
As for Lenny Pidgeley, the last I heard of him was that he was playing for Carlisle United, seeing him at Park View Road yesterday afternoon was a surprise and a bonus and to be fair, Welling's Charlie Mitten was the busier of the two goalkeepers, but after Welling's week I doubt anybody would deprieve Welling their victory.

He has got a wicked left foot. He put some really dangerous crosses in and tremendous pace too
