Blackburn Rovers Preview:A Quiet Week for the Double Winners

The week has been so quiet for the Champions and Double Winners, it was almost like an international break. The squad should be fully rested without any midweek exertions for the difficult trip to Ewood Park - a task made tougher in that the Champions haven't scored in their last two away games.

Our leader, legend and the REAL England captain has spoken out pre-match hoping 'for a strong start' against Sam Allardyce's men.

He said, "Every game is tough, I think we've had a tough start regardless of what other people have said.

"Last year we went away to West Ham and dropped two points, we went to Wigan and dropped three and this time we've gone to those places and picked up really good wins.

"Obviously we're disappointed to lose at Money Citeh, (sorry Man City..... Ed), I've always said you can go to the top sides and win or lose, but the importance of it is when you do play the smaller sides, you give them no time to play, get a couple of goals early and kick on.

"Hopefully we can take a lead, and this year we can build on it. We had a really good run up there for the last four or five years but last year we found it difficult. I think they have improved bundles as well as a team, they get a lot of stick which is totally unfair. Yes, they are physical, like all teams in the Premier League, but they play as well at times, so we have to respect them.

"First and foremost though you know you'll get a fight on your hands, they're out to get three points and will fancy their chances at home against anybody, so we need to go there and make sure we fight with them."

Alex returns to line-up next to JT after being out for four weeks and Blackburn will be buoyed with the return of Christopher Samba and Ryan Nelsen.
