Fulham Preview: Drogba Struck Down with Malaria

Carlo Ancelotti yesterday revealed that Didier Drogba has been suffering from Malaria, then in his next breath, 'Anco' announced that Drogba would start in tonight's West London derby. Now either Didier has got Malaria or he hasn't!?!? 

A virus or fever will knock anybody for six - but playing football with Malaria trolling through your system - explains why Dids has not been his usual self recently.

'Anco' went on to explain in further detail about Didier's condition. He said, "A test showed Malaria.

"He lost his condition, he lost power, he missed training. Didier had a difficulty to train because he didn't feel good, he didn't have power to train, he didn't have the ability to train, he lost some condition.

"He was unselfish to play also when he was not 100 per cent.

"He was treated during this time. He had a fever, then he was treated. He suffered obviously because he was not 100 per cent but after treatment, he will be better.

"One time it was serious, now it is a little bit different, now there is the possibility to treat and come back well. He is okay. Against Fulham he will play.

"The medical team tells me that the medication Didier is taking will completely eradicate the Malaria in approximately 48 hours and after that he will be fine.

"We don't know where or when he may picked up this Malaria, it could have been recently or from some time ago.

"It is not possible to say but we know now that it is under control and it will be gone completely this week"
