Fulham 0-0 Chelsea: David Luiz Hugely Impressive

A certain radio breakfast show host and his side-kick Johnny were full of myth and merriment this morning, for the 2nd time in a few days about Torres' lack of goals and not being able to complete his matches and they were also full of scorn for the £50m price-tag placed on his head on transfer window deadline day.

Now don't get me wrong. We are all entitled to our opinion but what grates me about these two, is the fact they really do not know anything about football and what is even more laughable, side-kick Johnny is the breakfast show's sports reporter!!!

Torres will score goals for Chelsea - there is no doubt about that. What he needs is help from his new team mates - SERVICE PLEASE.

The hugely impressive Luiz played his part in providing an opportunity for Torres, with a wonderful long ball out of defence, which would have fallen quite nicely for the Spaniard had it been on his favoured right-side. Instead the ball landed straight off his left boot and was eagerly gathered up by a relieved Schwarzer.

When will Torres' first League goal for Chelsea come? Who knows as Chelsea's next League game isn't until 1st March against Man Utd and that could be in doubt if Chelsea win their FA Cup replay at the weekend - a game that Torres will miss, because of being cup-tied.

Chelsea's home game against Birmingham City on the 26th February will have to be re-arranged, because The Blues are playing in the Carling Cup final on the 27th.

Torres' next opportunity to open his account will be against FC Copenhagen in next week's 1st Leg, Round of 16 knockout in Denmark. An environment that may well suit him.

Luiz probably played the best full debut game in Blue shirt seen for a very long time. He was firm at the back, getting his tackles in, spraying that long ball pass and marauding forward at every opportunity.

The only blemish on his wonderful night was the tackle in the dying seconds that gave Fulham a match-winning penalty.

Fortunately for Chelsea, Cech saved Dempsey's effort which was a wonderful surprise, because Cech DOES NOT DO penalties.
