Everton: FA Cup Replay: Please Start Ramires

Despite beating Everton in the 2009 FA Cup Final, the Toffees are proving a difficult team to beat before and after the event. The last time Chelsea prevailed at Stamford Bridge was in the League Cup back in 2008 and since then Chelsea have drawn the last three matches: 0-0, 3-3, 1-1 (which the last two games produced dramatic last minute equalisers for the Toffeemen).

Beckford was the scorer of that late, late equaliser back in December 2010. Since the FA Cup Final, Everton have won one out of four and the other three have been drawn in meetings between the two clubs.

Ancelotti has declared that Didier Drogba will start as Fernando Torres is cup-tied, after previously playing for Liverpool in the third round, and David Luiz is ineligible because his registration wasn't received by the required date of January 29th.

There is some good news in that Yury Zhirkov returns to the squad after his lengthy lay-off and Ancelotti has hinted that he will get some playing time.

I am still wondering why Ramires wasn't even in the squad for the Liverpool. We missed his presence in midfield. We missed his box to box engine and we missed his 100% commitment and workrate to eradicate the lesser efforts of some players.

Ramires returned against Fulham last Monday and although we struggled in periods to break down a determined defence, Ramires' presence changed the dynamic of Chelsea's play.

Even though Ramires hasn't acheived the scoring prowess of Essien, who has really fallen short this season, his overall commitment puts him on par with Essien of last season.

The Premiership title is well out of our grasp - let ManUre, Money Citeh, Woolwich slip up - we have done enough of our own slipping in this dismal League season.

The FA Cup is our only realistic chance of winning a trophy this season - a trophy not to be scoffed at - as Chelsea will become history makers by winning the trophy three times in a row since Blackburn Rovers managed the feat back in the 1880's.

As for the 'Corrupt Cup' aka the Champions League, snail face Platini and his silver silk suited cronies will try to put us out at the first opportunity now that Chelsea kick-off their knockout campaign in Demark on Tuesday evening against FC Copenhagen.

Yep, Ramires deserves his start - he really is becoming an excellent player for us (Great pic by the way).

Would be nice to make a bit of HISTORY winning it 3 times on the trot. Everton will be tough though.

Corrupt cup...I've a funny feeling this season - would be nice to shove it right up Platini's jacksie along with the refs committee (still headed by that bloke that called us "poisonous"?).

"It is born out of hypocrisy and fundamental insecurity. There have been two kids on the block for the past 12 years. Suddenly, there is a third and that one is threatening to be more successful than the others and they don’t like it." P Kenyon.

Corrupt Cup is mine as is yours Dixon, a mission to win it during our life time - but I am sure like me we never thought we would win the League (now 3) still......

stranger things have happened, but with Platini in charge you can create all the non-fiction scenarios you want
