Right up to the point when Chelsea scored with a thunderous John Terry header midway through the first-half, Chelsea were so on top a boxing referee would have stopped the contest immediately. Once Blackpool kicked-off, Chelsea switched off. Pressure, pressure, pressure.

Cech then became the busiest of the two goalkeepers and Chelsea were lucky to go into the interval with a slender lead.

The start of the second-half was no different. Blackpool came again and again without an end product.

On 55 minutes the much maligned Salomon Kalou by some Chelsea fans and heroed as super-sub by others replaced the stricken Drogba and his entrance into a difficult game changed Chelsea's dimension and within minutes Kalou won Chelsea a penalty after a soft clash inside the box with Blackpool's Evatt.

Mike Dean, never normally gives Chelsea anything and I was as surprised to see his arm point to the spot. I was half expecting Kalou to get a yellow card for diving.

Never to refuse an easy gift, up stepped Super Frank to blast the ball past Richard Kingson.

Minutes later Kalou again involved, threading a pass through to Super Frank who calmly rolled the ball across the diving Kingson to make it three.

Blackpool scored a consolation five minutes from time when Jason Puncheon beat the diving Cech with a shot that went in at the far post.

JT was heroic at the back in the closing minutes, preventing Vaughan from getting Blackpool's 2nd in a frustrating finale for a game that Chelsea should have won 5,6 or 7.

Still that's Chelsea Football Club for you!!

Kalou the enigma as usual!

Torres seems to have created so much competition for places selfishness seems to be stopping passing to him.

Lampard did well.

Zhirkov disappointed me - probably still not fit.

Terry MOM.

Drogba seems to be back in petulant mode.

Good win though!
