Corrupt Cup: UEFA's Favouite Team Avoided

Amongst much speculation to this morning's Corrupt Cup quarter-final and semi-final draws in Switzerland, Chelsea were paired against Man Utd in the quarters and the winners will play the winners of Inter and Shaktar in the semi-finals. Could be worse though - should Tottingham prevail against Jose's Real Madrid, they will have the potential of playing UEFA's favourite team, Barcelona.

The thought of playing UEFA's favourite team Barcelona filled me with dread considering May 2009 is still at the forefront of my mind.

Should Chelsea and Barcelona progress to the final at Wembley, surely the word 'corruption' can be erased from the English Football Language - or can it?

I wonder what the private thoughts of slug/snail face are this evening as Platini sits in his plush office, comfortable in a luxury leather chair wearing an expensive silk suit, kindly paid for by the 'ripped-off' Chelsea fans from 2009.

I can see him sitting in that chair, thinking one English club will definitely be knocked out and possibly two (as Tottingham play Real Madrid) and I bet between Man Utd and Chelsea he HOPES that Man Utd will prevail.

After all Platini's criticism of Chelsea's business practices and performances haven't entirely been favourable.

So it is - Platini sat in the Royal Box in May watching Barcelona but against who?

Let's hope and pray that Chelsea gain revenge over Utd for the 2008 final defeat, then beat Inter or Shaktar and then SEE you at Wembley , the TRUE home of football. Platini!!

Haha what a lot of rubbish Barcelona are uefas favourite team. Seriously listen to yourself the premier league is indeed a bad advert for football because people outside the sport ask is it fair team such as man city can just go and buy all these players and skip ahead of honest hard working clubs like everton and chelsea are no different without abramovics money chelsea would not be where they are where as Barcelona have worked off their own backs to be where they are producing young talent from the youth and using the global merchandise money to buy players like villa and alves also the fans have a big say in what goes on at the club. Barcelonas win on away goals at stamford bridge was controversial yes and i wouldnt blame chelsea fans for never forgiving the referees considering what was at stake but when all is said and done barcelona merited the treble that year due to their football being the best in the whole of europe. And as for the latest quarter finals draw as a Barcelona fan id rather have got chelsea or man utd than shaktar as shaktar have looked quality so far hammering roma finishing top of arsenals group and possesing an exciting attack full of brazilian flair players wheras i know what to expect with man utd and chelsea try to turn it into a physical game and numb the game as a whole. football would be done a favour by the english premier league sides being knocked out so we can see teams trying to win both legs wether they are 1-0 up on aggregate or 5-0 down. The draw was completely random real and barca had as much chance of getting each other as man utd and chelsea did so seriously you need to accept that Barcelona and real madrid are far more entertaining and if the spanish and english sides had been drawn together wed probably be looking at man utd and chelsea both going out so be grateful you have a chance to get 1 side through
