When Ramires joined Chelsea for £18m almost a year ago, he didn't create that much of an impression, but slowly and surely he has impressed and improved and has won the fans over and his outstanding Chelsea moment so far ( I doubt he will better it) was his 1st goal, Chelsea's 2nd in yesterday's comfortable 2-0 win over Money Citeh.
It was a comfortable win - difficult at times - Chelsea struggled to break down, dare I say it, 'the tightly parked bus' - Citeh didn't offer an attacking option as Tevez was ruled out earlier in the day and their £27m signing Dzeko struggled to get past Luiz and JT.
Tevez's absence yesterday proved how much Mancini and his merry band of multi-millionaires rely on him. Without Tevez, Money Citeh are just an ordinary team there is no doubt.
The win took Chelsea above Citeh into third place and back into the title race - although it is fair to say - the points gap ratio to the games left to play - make the challenge perhaps the bridge, a little to far.
David Luiz, the Sideshow Bob hairy lookalike, gave Chelsea the lead, 12 minutes from time, with a thumping header from a Didier free-kick.
It was his second goal in successive home League games - cult hero and legend status already secured.
Then in stoppage time came Ramires' moment of genius. He picked the ball up in midfield travelled forward into the area, bypassing Lescott and Kolarov, rounding Joe Hart before smashing the ball into the opposite corner of the net.
Stamford Bridge erupted and it was no more than Chelsea deserved.
