It looks like it’s Villas Boas…

Reports are coming in from the Portuguese media that Chelsea are about to officially appoint Porto manager Andre Villas Boas as head coach.  After years of accompanying Mourinho at his clubs, it comes as no surprise that Villas Boas has the methodology and thoroughness of the Special One.

There is one important difference though; Villas Boas likes his players to express themselves as much as possible and prefers an attacking style of football.  Seems too good to be true?  A younger, more adventurous version of the still much loved Mourinho?

This is good news for many Chelsea supporters who would prefer the mixture of Boas as coach and Hiddink overseeing the whole operation as Director of Football.

At just 33, Villas Boas became the youngest manager to win a European trophy when Porto won the UEFA Europa league last season, with the Portuguese club also winning the league.

Fingers crossed then.  Let’s hope the reports turn out to be accurate…
