Octopus City 0-0 Chelsea: Two Awesome Performances

Never the one to mock the afflicted but the concussion Fernando Torres received in the midweek match against Italy must have done the trick. Torres was awesome. First he kept the 'Drog' on the bench and then he produced his best performance in a Chelsea shirt, a performance bettering the goal against West Ham last season, and that was a day never to forget.
Torres was here, there and FCUKING everywhere.
Scythed down right on the edge of the penalty area in the 2nd half, ref Halsey gave nothing.
Then in amongst the bodies in 'Octopus' six yard area, Torres was dragged down and again Halsey gave nothing.
Torres was absolutely brilliant, giving the physical Shawcross, Woodgate and Huth a 'Torres' time with his direct running and showing his pace.
It's just a shame his Man of The Match performance didn't grab a goal or two that his performance thoroughly deserved.
However, John Obi Mikel should receive the bigger slice of the credit cake.
During the course of Friday his elderly father was abducted in Nigeria.
Why?
Nobody knows!
Mikel performance yesterday was probably one of his best for Chelsea in the holding role and his 25 yard volley had 'Octopus' 'keeper Begovic straining a tentacle to divert the shot onto the bar.
And today Obi has put out a passionate appeal asking for the safe return of his Dad and asking why he was taken in the first place.
"He is elderly and has done nothing wrong."
All our thoughts are with Obi at this difficult time and your decision to play yesterday has earned you mucho, mucho respect from ALL Chelsea fans.
I am still at a loss how the hell Ryan Shawcross was allowed to stay on the field, considering his Octopussy WWE impressions in either area on JT, especially after Shawcross was booked in the early minutes for a bad challenge on the Man of the Match.
And how the hell Halsey missed the challenge on Super Frank in the penalty area is beyond belief.
I know Halsey has had his problems in the last year or so, but his overall control of the game left a lot to be desired and I think AvB's comments after the game were rather dignified.
Woodgate and Huth were just as bad and I feel AvB made a 'mistake' in not starting Drogba because he did not appreciate the physical 'Octopus City' approach.
Although the Chelsea manager has changed, nothing else has really.
Chelsea dominated the possession yesterday, can't score in a brothel (scoring outside maybe) despite the chances created and Begovic's fine saves.
