If the 'booers' from last week are looking for 'anyscore to nil' bets when Chelsea take on newly-promoted Norwich City at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, look no further than youtube, where you will find Chelsea scoring FIFTEEN goals, conceding one - two Premiership and two FA Cup - in the last four meetings between the two sides. Because today you may well get a 0-0!!!
One of those FIFTEEN goals was the sublime, beautiful back-heel from Gianfranco Zola in the FA Cup replay way back in 2002 when Chelsea ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.
AvB, in his second successive home match in this new season, is on a hiding to nothing.
A win will not be considered good enough by the 'few' unless it is by SIX.
Four or five will be acceptable to some, anything less may see the 'booers' rear their ugly heads again.
If Norwich score and no disrespect to the Canaries, Paul Lambert and their fans, the roof may well cave in over Stamford Bridge, this is how I see it after last week's disgraceful reaction at half-time when Chelsea ended the half 1-0 down to West Brom.
New signing Juan Mata has been given the No.10 shirt by Yossi Benayoun who explained that the number was Mata's favourite. Beanyoun's favourite number is 15, a hint to Malouda who has been linked to Juve to give it up.
In fact Yossi has been tweeting all week, that his future is being sorted out in the next few days and AvB has dismissed reports of Flo being sold.
He said, "Malouda has 43 goals from 189 games. This is the kind of importance this player has for us, he is an excellent professional, very driven and determined throughout his career, so we can't let ourselves sell talents of his quality."
AvB confimed that Chelsea have put in a bid for Porto's Alvaro Pereira. He said, "I can confirm that we have made a bid for him but we are very far apart in terms of numbers. It's a big, big difference. I am not very confident."
Of Mata's debut, AvB said, "Mata is in the squad, but it is too early for him to start straightaway. This league is very specific in terms of intensity and emotionally and culturally.
"It doesn't mean he is not threatening the starting 11 but two training sessions is short for playing and creating new relationships with the players, so we will assess tomorrow (Saturday)."
