Still smarting from the decisions given against Chelsea on Sunday at Old Trafford, AvB has made official representation to referees chief Mike Riley about the performances of the officials. Don't expect too much AvB, this is Old Muvver Riley you are dealing with and he was a rubbish referee too!
AvB said, "Our objective was to win and we managed to create so many opportunities and they should have translated into a better result for us.
"I am glad it was a spectacle that everybody wanted because the game belongs to the fans but I am very unhappy with the poor performance from the referees which in the end had the decisive role in the result.
"I don't take it very lightly because of those first two goals. You expect the linesman to do his job and I have already gone ahead with the situation by speaking to the correct people.
"We all feel very down when the officials had such an impact on the result but I am very happy with the display and the resilience we showed after such a negative impact."
After making changes to the team in the recent 'Corrupt Cup' game against Leverkusen I will not be surprised if wholesale changes are made for tonight's game against neighbours Fulham.
I expect the likes of Josh McEachran, Ryan Bertrand, Romelu Lukaku and Oriel Romeu to have pivotal roles tonight and there is strong news that Didier has finally recovered from his horrific concussion suffered against Norwich (what seems an eternity ago) and could feature.
My only reservation is Ross Turnbull in goal.
The bloke makes me shake and shudder.
It is unlikely Cech will play and with Hilario injured with a bad back, Turnbull is the only available choice.
Please, please AvB, pick Cech and make him captain again?!?!
