With Chelsea in the middle of a defensive crisis – injuries and suspensions – you would have expected QPR to have come out all guns blazing with their big money sharpshooters! Cisse, Zamora. But oh no. QPR turned up looking already resigned to future trips to the likes of Barnsley and within 50 seconds a hammer of a right foot from Danny Sturridge prepared the way for the floodgates to open.
Goals to complement the sheeting rain, rained in.
Chelsea four up inside 25 minutes and Fernando Torres, fresh from his ‘unbelievable’ sic Gary Neville scoregasm in Barcelona, scored a ‘proper’ hat-trick!

JT, ‘One England Captain’ desperately trying to redeem himself from his silly Nou Camp sending-off headed in the 2nd, then Malouda smashed in the 6th to complete QPR’s sad, miserable day.
Cisse scored Rangers consolation, hammering in a low shot into Cech’s far post, a bit of a disappointment, simply because Rangers didn’t offer anything or pose any threat whatsoever throughout the whole 90 minutes, this despite Barton winning the toss and forcing Chelsea to attack the Matthew Harding End during the first-half.
Ferreira was immaculate at right-back and Bosingwa continued his fine spell as an able deputy centre-half.
Sam Hutchinson, plagued with injury over the last few years, came on with ten minutes to go and did not shirk any tackles. There was one cruncher of a tackle that would have seen other ‘pros’ bottle out.

What really capped off the day is, as mentioned in your report, the appearance of Sam at the end...again...so pleased for him after being written off and retired not so long ago.
