Fulham Preview: Trio Still Out

Benitez, Abramovich and ‘Captain, Leader, Leader’ JT were in attendance at Cobham on Monday night as the U21s beat Fulham 3-0 with goals from Ake, Feruz and Adam Phillip. The U21s are unbeaten now in six matches. Tonight ‘The Portly One’ takes charge of his 2nd game at The Bridge and can expect the same ‘warm’ welcome (LOL… Ed) as he received on Sunday, when our ‘neighbours’ from down the river come a visiting.

Fulham may have got shot of our nemesis Clint Dempsey, but they have got another striker that could cause us problems in Berbatov. The defence will need to as tight as they were on Sunday, if not tighter.

Chelsea are still without Super Frank, JT and Danny Sturridge, but the good news concerning JT he COULD be back sooner rather than later, making the party to travel to Japan for the Club World Cup in ten days time.

It is heavily rumoured that ‘The Portly One’ is going to drop Mikel and replacing him with Romeu.

‘The Portly One’ said, “I can guarantee that I have been talking with 15 players for five minutes, 10  minutes, half and hour. It depends on each player.

“Just talking about little things. What in the player’s opinion was wrong,what if right. I have been working with Torres and with the others.

“We have to improve some players physically and they will maybe come back to the strength that they had. Torres has very real pace and it is not because he is getting old, or injuries – he has to train in a way that will maybe suit him and we will have to find this way. There is some work in the gym, on his strength and that maybe he needs to do again.

“On Tuesday we were working with Torres and with Oscar and we are trying to find this understanding, but it will take some time. We were also working on some little movements for Luiz, Cole, Hazard and others. We are trying to improve each player a little but then we have to put them together.”
