Club World Cup: CF Monterrey 1-3 Chelsea

Chelsea rammed the words back down Monterrey’s coach Victor Vucetech throat after he called Chelsea and their football ‘ugly,’ with a stylish, impressive and dominating display against the Mexicans this morning in the 2nd semi-final of the Club World Cup in Yokohama, Japan.

Chelsea could have been two or three goals up in quick time before Juan Mata opened the scoring in the 16^th minute after a neat move involving Torres, Oscar with a neat back-heel and a low cross from Cole straight into Mata who controlled and rifled a low shot into the net.

Despite Chelsea’s domination the score remained unchanged until two minutes into the 2^nd half when first, Torres scored Chelsea’s 2^nd with the help of a huge deflection, causing a massive ‘love-in’ down by the corner flag and then Torres broke down Chelsea’s left, sending in a low diagonal cross with the outside of his right boot to Mata at the far post, who in turn, played back looking for the on-rushing Oscar, only for the ball to deflect off Monterrey’s Chavez for Chelsea’s third.

On the stroke of full-time, the Mexicans pulled one back when De Nigirs was allowed to break into the area and he shot neatly across the area past Cech to make the score 3-1.

A goal conceded so late that disappointed ‘The Portly One.’

He said, “I am not happy with the goal we conceded because these little things can make a difference in a final.”

So on Sunday at 10.30pm (UK time), Chelsea play Corinthians of Brazil for the right to be called Club World Champions 2012.

Corinthians are expected to have 20,000 fans plus at the game outnumbering The Blues fans by 20 to 1.
