Sparta Prague 0-1 Chelsea: Fatty Gets Away With It.... Just!

Terrible, torture, turgid a complete yawnfest. That was Chelsea. Sparta were no better but they had an excuse, this was their first game since their winter break began two and a half months ago. Crying out for a bit of ‘magic’ or something better than what had already been seen, Fatty played his first sub card bringing on Benayoun for Marin. What?!? Yossi for Juan. How the hell does that work?

To be fair to fatty (only just), he didn’t have an awful lot to play with and as for a plan b, plan c or even plan d or just another plan please!!!!! There isn’t one. Fatty is totally inept.

Ba is cup-tied, Moses and Obi have just returned as African Champions and David Luiz was suspended plus 22 players are out on loan at various clubs throughout Europe.

Nine minutes from time, someone fed a penny into fatty’s head.

The penny dropped and with the clock ticking, Oscar came for Mata and Oscar made an immediate impact, ala Zola in the Cup Winners Cup final against Stuttgart, picking up the ball, playing a clever one-two with Hazard before slotting home inside the area into the bottom corner of the net.

There isn’t too much more to report unless you want to read about misplaced passes after misplaced passes.

Torres sadly, fluffed his lines on a couple of occasions until he ‘livened’ up when Oscar came on, which makes you wonder what would have happened if fatty had brought Oscar on earlier.

Prague’s ‘keeper Vaclik pulled off a flying save to deny Torres in the dying minutes, tipping the Spaniards shot high round the post.
