Chelsea 4-0 Brentford: Expect Luiz to be Banned?!?!

I expect sometime today or tomorrow the Sweet FA will be rubbing their hands with anticipation by announcing that David Luiz will be retrospectively charged for violent conduct after his needless, sinister challenge on Brentford’s Jake Reeves in the closing minutes of Chelsea’s 4-0 win at The Bridge yesterday lunchtime.

Get ready for the anti-Chelsea media brigade and every videobox jury panel to get on their high horses calling for the toughest punishment allowed.

Reeves had played the ball on when Luiz came slamming in to the midfielder and his forearm catching Reeves right across the jaw.

Reeves was forced off looking dazed and confused, leaving Brentford with only ten players on the pitch, after using all of their available substitutes.

Fatty had shown Brentford and Uwe Rosler full respect by naming his strongest eleven available.

Cech in goal, despite his broken finger, JT was restored to the centre of defence despite morning reports of a major rift with fatty which he angrily denied after the game, calling the reports lazy journalism.

Demba and his mask replaced Torres, Luiz returned to midfield, Cole returned to left-back and Moses, newly crowned Champion of Africa replaced Eden Hazard.

However despite the strong lin-up, Chelsea struggled to break down a very organised Brentford team roared on by 6,000 Bees, in the Shed End of Stamford Bridge and Chelsea’s only clear cut chance in the first-half came when Oscar’s shot hit the post.

Had Oscar not slipped as he was shooting, Chelsea may have been ahead at the break.

Perhaps Chelsea showed Brentford too much respect, because from the start of the second-half Chelsea upped the tempo and scored three times in the space of seventeen sizzling minutes.

First to score was Juan Mata with a fine drive into the bottom corner from twenty-five yards, then Oscar added Chelsea’s 2nd with a deft flick after Ivanovic sent in a low cross from the byline and then Super Frank, who could have scored a first-half hat-trick, volleyed Chelsea’s third from close-range from a Mata cross.

Super Frank’s goal (199) now puts him three behind Bobby Tambling’s all-time goal-scoring record (202), but Super Frank did become Chelsea’s all-time FA Cup goalscorer taking his tally to 26 goals.

Nine minutes from time, Oscar sent in a high deep cross and from almost on the goal-line ‘Captain, Leader, Legend, One England Captain’ rose highest to head in Chelsea’s 4th.

Chelsea now travel to The Riverside on Wednesday 27th February to play Middlesbrough in the 5th Round and in the 6th Round draw, Chelsea or Middlesbrough were paired away to either Man Utd or Reading.

Brentford’s boss Rosler was dignified in defeat when he said, “Rafa paid my players a lot of respect in putting out a strong team. I didn’t expect it.”

Rosler also added about the Luiz/Reeves incident, “The player came into our dressing room and he spoke to Jake, and I think that is a fantastic gesture from the player.”

Luiz was yellow carded and the FA can not act on anything that has been dealt with by the referee at the time, shouldn't you have known this?

Obviously you are not familiar with the Sweet FA's attitude towards Chelsea.

They can do what they want. They make it up as they go along.
