Two clubs, two teams, two important matches this weekend for very different reasons. First tonight the U18s play their 2nd leg of the FA Youth Cup Semi-Final at The Bridge looking to secure a place in the final against Norwich City who beat Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road, 5-4 after a penalty shoot-out. Then on Sunday it is the return of Fatty to his ‘beloved’ Liverpool…. PLEASE LEAVE HIM THERE!!!
Chelsea lead 2-0 from the first leg at Anfield last week with two very late goals from Alex Kiwomya in a thrilling and entertaining game proving these youngsters play with no fear and are allowed to play free and expressive football.
THERE WILL BE LIVE UPDATES ON THE BOARD BELOW FROM 7.45pm and team news will be published as soon as it becomes available.
U18s coach Adi Viveash said of Kiwomya after last week’s game, “In the 4th round at Charlton, Alex didn’t start but he made a big impact coming on at half-time when we were in a difficult situation. He scored a fantastic second goal and from there he has gone from strength to strength.
“He is a major goal threat and has outstanding pace. I would like him to be a little more consistent from half to half.
“At Liverpool he was outstanding in the second half and first half he struggled to get in the game which sometimes happens with young players, especially forwards, but his two finishes were top drawer. The fact he is top scorer is a nice thing but it doesn’t mean much because individuals shine in good teams.”
Kiwomya has scored four goals in this season’s Youth Cup.

Aina broke down Chelsea's right like a greyhound, winning a corner in the process. From the corner Ake powered in a header from close range at the near post.

Chelsea completed the job they started at Anfield last week with a stylish, impressive performance at The Bridge to win through to their third FA Youth Cup Final in four years.
Chelsea did not have it all their own way as Liverpool started out brightly and took the lead when Peterson won the ball out on Liverpool's left, then he ran across the 18 yard line before hitting a low shot past the outstretched arms of Mitchell Beeney into the bottom right hand corner.
The goal changed the game's dynamic. The game went end to end as Liverpool pushed forward for that equaliser and perhaps match advantage, but John Swift had other ideas as he broke up a Reds attack strode 60 odd yards before spraying the ball out wide to Kiwomya.
Swift continued his run into the box, meeting Kiwoyma's cross first-time sweeping the ball low into the net.
Very Lampardesque.
The goal put Chelsea level on the night but more importantly restored the two goal advantage.
Chelsea's 2nd came after Aina won a corner again with Chelsea exposing Liverpool down the flank. The corner came in and completely unmarked Nathan Ake powerfully headed home at the near post.
The goal came right on halftime and increased the aggregate in Chelsea's favour to 4-1.
Although there were no more goals in the 2nd half, both teams had chances and both 'keepers - Beeney and Fulton -were made to work.
Chelsea did have two goals disallowed for offside, which were both close calls and Liverpool hit the bar after Sinclair did well to recover his feet and beat Ake before hitting his powerful shot.
Feruz and Kiwomya were guilty of leaving their boots at home, both dragging shots wide of their target, but they both played their part over the Cup campaign and not forgetting the NextGen series in getting Chelsea once again to the final.
Chelsea will play Norwich City away in the first leg, a week on Monday, 29th April and naturally there will be LIVE updates.
The second leg date at The Bridge, to be confirmed.
