Ha. Still chuckling about Fatty’s Manager of the Month award and SAF being overlooked despite Man Utd winning their 20th League title and with the ‘curse’ that travels with the award, it’s sods law Chelsea have to travel to Old Trafford this afternoon at the start of another vital week.
With both Woolwich and Bale FC eeking out 1-0 wins yesterday, avoiding defeat remains the priority.
Following today, Chelsea take on Bale FC on Wednesday night at The Bridge before travelling to the massively improving Aston Villa next Saturday lunchtime.
It will be the 5th time the clubs have played each other this season and the stats show Chelsea have won two (League Cup and FA Cup, both at The Bridge), Utd have the League victory, 3-2 at The Bridge and the other game in the FA Cup finished 2-2 at Old Trafford.
Four games, nineteen goals - Chelsea 10, Utd 9, I will take a dour 0-0!!
But with Utd's 12th man in charge (Howard Webb), a 0-0 isn't going to happen.
There are no reported injury concerns for Chelsea after their nine-minute second-half cruise against Basel on Thursday night but Utd will be without Danny Welbeck who is out with a knee injury.
Utd report that Scholes may return to the squad after a four month absence.
