Magath is Full of Confidence

"I don’t say we will be playing 6-4, but 2-0 or 3-1 and that will be sufficient.

"One advantage for us will be playing at home and another benefit is that we know what we have to achieve. I think that once we have taken the lead it will get more difficult for Chelsea, they will be under new pressure, and it has happened more than once that a team under pressure makes mistakes."

Magath dismissed claims and TV proof that Ballack dived to earn Munich's last second penalty, which Ballack got up and scored. Magath pointed out that German teams are used to more protection than English and that Chelsea were allowed liberties while at home.

On Drogba, Magath said "I have to admit we did not have our perfect day last week and this was one of the reasons. He also benefitted that the referee was full of benefits for his actions. Kovac was always stopped by the referee. This will not be the case this time.

"Kovac now knows the strengths of Drogba and now knows how to correctly assess those strengths, and I think the defence will be able to handle Drogba."

Chelsea's pre match press conference was conducted by Mikael Forrsell and the hat wearer from the 1st leg, Rui Faria who angrily kept deflecting questions regarding his infamous hat and whether or not he was taking instructions from the absent Jose. Forssell urged caution as he compard both German and English Leagues. He should know after all Forssell spent six months at Borussia Mönchengladbach back in 2003. Forssell said "The two Leagues are very similar. Germany and England are very physical, and the football is very quick. Both have benefitted from foreign players. Both have got the great spirit, they go into tackles, and they have the technical benefit of foreign players. The football is great and very similar."

He also warned that with the possibility of both Roy Makaay and Claudio Pizarro being back in attack for Munich, that Chelsea could face some of the route one football which cracked open Munich’s defence at Stamford Bridge.

"Look at the goals they scored against Ajax. They got the ball forward, up to the front, very aerially. Then they took one or two touches and tried to shoot. They scored a great goal against Arsenal like that.

"They play the ball very quickly up the pitch and we have to acknowledge that."

Forrsell then moved on to the subject on his manager, Jose Mourinho. Forrsell added "His tactical ability is unbelievable. He loves the players, he treats them very well, he believes in them.

"He made everybody believe that we can win everything there is. Not only he believed it, but he made everybody else believe it.

"Mourinho has seen me in training and saw I was ready to play again, not for 90 minutes yet obviously, but to be involved, so that’s great for me."

Chelsea actually travelled to Munich on Sunday. One player who did not travel with the squad was Mateja Kezman, banned from the first leg, Kezman is now ill with tonsilitis so now expect Forssell to be named on the subs bench, as he was for the first leg.

The referee tonight is Manuel Enrique Mejuto González, from Spain. Mr Gonzalez has referreed Chelsea twice in past Champions League matches. He was in charge of Chelsea's 3-0 win over PSG back in September and he also officiated the Quarter-Final 1st Leg against Arsenal last season. Mr Gonzalez is not alien to Munich either. He took charge of Munich's 1-0 defeat at Juventus back in the group stage.

The winners (hopefully Chelsea) will play the winners of Juventus v Liverpool, being played on Wednesday. Liverpool lead 2-1 from the first leg.
