Chelsea Celebrations Still on Hold

Chelsea have to wait. Wait for a few more days. After waiting for fifty years a few more days will not matter. There is a more important date to concentrate on first and that is Liverpool on Wednesday night.
After an absorbing North London derby more so in the second half, Arsenal ran out winners by virtue of a Reyes first half goal. To be fair had Tottenham got anything from this game it would have been undeserved. Arsenal's performance in the first half could have seen them at least three goals up, with Reyes having a golden chance in the first thirty seconds. Tottenham again to be fair were a far better proposition in the second half and in the last ten minutes could have nicked an equaliser from a Robbie Keane header which went inches past the post. Had that chance gone in, the Kings Road would have been awash in blue and white and Chelsea could celebrate their first league championship in fifty years. The major talking point was, did Ashley Cole handle in the penalty area whilst under pressure from Tottenham's Robbie Keane? Ref Mike Riley said he didn't and play was waved on. Now wouldn't that have been interesting if Riley saw it as handball, considering the 'Colegate' allegations??? Alas it wasn't to be and now the Chelsea celebrations have to be put on hold until the weekend when the Blues travel to Bolton and a victory of any sort will guarantee and confirm the Premiership trophy coming home to Stamford Bridge.
