Frank Wins Awards and Crespo to Stay?

Frank Lampard has been voted Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association. It completes a clean sweep by Chelsea of the two major seasonal awards following John Terry’s PFA Player of the Year win last month.

Terry came second in the Football Writers’ poll with Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher third. Between them Lampard and Terry collected 90 per cent of the votes.

Our vice-captain and top scorer, who took part in every one of our Premiership games on the way to winning the title, is only the second Chelsea player to win Footballer of the Year, a honour that dates back to 1948. Gianfranco Zola was winner in 1997 at the end of his first season in England.

Lampard was runner-up last season with Ruud Gullit and Peter Bonetti runners-up in 1996 and 1970 respectively.

Super Frank has also been named as the Barclays Player of the Month for April. Congrats Frank and the individual awards just keep on rolling in.

It is also being reported on Sky Sports News that Jose Mourinho is saying that Hernan Crespo, currently on loan to Champions League finalists AC Milan, HAS a future at Stamford Bridge. This comes as a big surprise as Jose was the one to kick Crespo out on loan for allegedly not having the right winning attitude. Apparantly Crespo turned up for training a day late and was told in no uncertain terms by Mourinho to go home and come back again with the right attitude and a signed cheque for £100,000 made payable to his (Crespo's) favourite charity.

Well at the moment anybody is better than the option of Drogba!!
