Celebrations and Trophy Down At the Bridge

Today Saturday 7th May 2005, will go down in history as THE most special day in the history of Chelsea Football Club. Why? Today is the day that the trophy to celebrate and to hail the football champions of England is being presented to Chelsea Football Club at Stamford Bridge. For the 2nd time in the history of Chelsea Football Club the elite title of English football is coming to Stamford Bridge. For the first time in Chelsea's history the trophy, is being presented to the club in front of the fans, whereas back in 1955 when the championship was won for the first and only time (until now) the only objects that were presented to the fans were the players.

CHELSEA, CHELSEA, CHELSEA, CHELSEA

Today fifty years on and in the year of our 100th birthday, Chelsea once again are champions of English football. The presentation of the trophy and the players medals will take place after the last home game of the season against our South London neighbours, Charlton Athletic.

Mmmm (I could be tempted to write a rhetorical comment, but I refuse to be drawn down to the level of the hurtful abuse, vitriolic contempt and sarcasm that has been received personally and to the message board since Chelsea's defeat to Liverpool in the CL during the week).

WE ARE CHELSEA, UNITED and NEVER BE DEFEATED!!!!

From a personal point of view, today will be a mixture of emotions. I shall be experiencing emotions from the point of complete delirium to those tinged with sadness as I remember a close family friend who sadly passed away last year, after a long illness. Brian was the 'villian' who introduced me to the delights of Chelsea Football Club back in 1966 (where I became hooked). Wherever you are my friend and I know you are watching, simply. THANKS FOR THE LAST 40 YEARS of HELL!! HERE IS TO THE NEXT 40 YEARS OF HEAVEN!! (Be serious man, this is Chelsea we are talking about snigger).

To those who read this before starting their own journey to Stamford Bridge. Lets make it a day to remember and a day never to forget. To those who have joined in the Chelsea revolution over the last few years, for Gods sake join in and sing a song or two or just cheer here and now, or if that is beneath you, then don't bother coming back next season, or the season after. Let someone back in who WANTS to support, cheer and sing for their club. For those JCL's (Johnny Come Latelys), just go forth and multiply - WE DON'T NEED YOUI!

Expect JM to make a few changes for today's game. There are quite a few players that haven't made their minimum appearances to qualify for a League medal, but Peter Kenyon said on Chelsea TV last night that the club WILL make sure that those entitled to a championship medal will receive one.

Peter Kenyon also said that Carlo Cudicini is NOT for sale and he is a TRUE model professional and IS the second best goalkeeper in the Premier League so therefore take it as read that King Carlo will be playing against Charlton today. With the greatest respect to Charlton, the action on the pitch as far as I am concerned will take second fiddle to the watch or clock or whatever timepiece that counts down the mintues and seconds to the moment that Super John Terry lifts the Premiership Trophy aloft.

It is going to be one hell of an emotional day!!

PS: Someone told me the other day that after being knocked out by Liverpool in the CL, today will be an anti-climax. I said 'How can it be an anti-climax, when I have never had the climax??'
