The kids of Chelsea beat the kids of Feyenoord last night to reach the Quarter-Finals of the Milk Cup, a tournament being held in Northern Ireland.

Against tough opposition Shaun Cummings scored the only goal of the game with a 20 yard left footer that left coach Brendan Rodgers purring 'Great Finish.'

Playing on a daily basis is obviously very demanding, but that is how this tournament is structured. Games have been 70 minutes long to take this into account. Brendan was delighted with this win against the Dutch giants. "The spirit of the boys was excellent, they worked really hard.

"It was the fourth game of pre-season, four wins, 14 goals and two clean sheets out here. We’re doing alright!"

Schoolboys involved in this game were Rhys Taylor, Nana Ofori, Joe Anderson and Lee Sawyer.

The boys play Mexican side Cruz Azul in the quarter-final tomorrow, and success could lead to a semi-final against Porto.

Team Taylor; Ofori, Mancienne, Cork, Bertrand; Bridcutt (Anderson); Furman, Sawyer (Hutchinson); Saarlema (Ismail); Cummings, Sinclair.
