Revenge!?! - We Want Premiership Points

Its really difficult to get 'up' for this match tonight despite the best efforts of TV and the Press calling for Chelsea's revenge, Battle of Britain Part 2 then Battle of Britain Part 2 becomes Battle of Britain Part 3 when the two teams meet again in the CL at Stamford Bridge Tuesday December 6th.
For me THE most important game of the week is the League game at Anfield on Sunday. Simple really. And the reason why it is so simple is that I believe that both Liverpool and Chelsea will qualify from this group. But what the heck at the end of the day, pride is at stake for both clubs and I see no reason why Anfield Stadium tonight will be less rocking than it was on that night when Liverpool won 1-0 or Chelsea lost 1-0 to a goal that should not have been allowed. That was then and this is now. After Liverpool won through to the final, they were 3-0 down to AC Milan by half-time with Hernan Crespo scoring scoring two of the goals after Paolo Maldini's opener. The second half and the resultant penalty shoot-out, even the most creative story writer could not have come up with a better finish, saw Liverpool come back to 3-3 and win the penalty shoot-out and therefore became Champions of Europe for the fifth time and allowed to keep the 'big eared' Cup. I am a fervent believer that the holders of any trophy should be 'by right' allowed to defend their trophy without fuss, without argument and without any penalty given on a previous season's league campaign. But UEFA being the governing body saw different. After a huge campaign and the sacrifice of a small European team Liverpool were allowed to compete in this year's competition and had to qualify. Simply for me its 'a load of balls on a snooker table.' But what do you expect when UEFA, purely for money change the rules allowing untold clubs from countries, down to four in some leagues, to participate in the Champions League. Once upon a time this was a competition for European League winners and European Cup winners to participate and play against each other as the best from their country. Don't get me wrong. I am grateful for the opportunities given to Chelsea Football Club for competing in the Champions League in recent years, without winning the League, but I will still argue the toss that for Liverpool, holders of the Cup had to QUALIFY. Anyway. No team prediction for the Chelsea team as it has already been announced. Cech, Ferrerira, Terry, Carvalho, Gallas, Makelele, Essien, Lampard, Duff, Robben, Drogba
