Frank Lampard came second in tonight's vote for FIFA World Football Player of the Year. He splits the representation of Barcelona FC, ironically our recently drawn opponents in the knockout stage of the Champions League which resumes in February 2006.

The winner was Ronaldinho and third was Samuel Eto'o.

Its the second time that Frank has finished behind Ronaldinho inside a month. Frank was runner-up in the European Player of the Year award. To finish second in the World has to be a supreme accolade for an English born player who had completely developed as a player to be feared in his time at Chelsea and especially under the guidance of 'The Special One' Jose Mourinho and lets not forget the contribution made by the 'The Tinkerman,' Claudio Ranieri.

WELL DONE FRANK!!
