Bridge to Fulham for Rest of Season

After weeks of speculation Wayne Bridge has completed his loan move to Fulham for the remainder of the season.

 Bridge has only made one Carling Cup appearance against Charlton, one FA Cup appearance and one International England appearance since his horrific injury against Newcastle in the FA Cup in January 2005.

Its an interesting move by 'The Special One.' who announced earlier this week that 'only' one player will be able to leave - on loan that is - and no-one else will come in after the Maniche signing. Considering Chelsea do have a problem at left-back - Del Horno and centre-back/left back William Gallas - what happens then should either or both get injured between now and the end of the season?

There is no doubt that Bridge needs the matches if he wants to be part of England's World Cup plans (I refuse to mention the manager's name, as I believe that after his latest antics, he should be out of a job - AND BRING IN STUART PEARCE. The man has got more passion in his little finger than erm erm erm has got in his whole Scandanavian body). So starting on Monday when Fulham take on West Ham at Upton Park, Bridge's road to Germany should start.

Under the terms of the loan deal, Bridge will be unavailable to play for Fulham when Chelsea visit Craven Cottage in March.

Bridge said after signing, "The next few months is an incredibly important period for me to be playing regular football, as I would obviously love to be part of the manager’s plans for the World Cup competition."
